Uniting communities across the globe, we celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change.

Team runners and walkers in the Relay for Life, known as the world's largest fundraising event to combat cancer, will take turns walking or running around the track or path at the school.

Valdosta State University hopes to raise $25,000 for the American Cancer Society during its movie-themed 2017 Relay for Life, which kicks off 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, on the main campus front lawn.

Freshman Kaitlyn Pierro said,"I think it's really important just because so many people's lives are affected by cancer". But, we are making progress on many fronts. Pledge to fight back against this disease.

The earliest relays begin Saturday, April 22.

Shaw and his professional team are working diligently to help gather local support for Wetumpka's American Cancer Society Relay For Life event by connecting with nearby families and business owners over email and social media channels.

"The 5K also adds a healthy addition to our relay and promotes health and wellness". We felt, both locations were good, but it wasn't good enough. Volunteers teach simple techniques to help them cope with skin and nail changes and hair loss that comes with treatment. The 80 by 2018 campaign is a national effort to get 80 percent of adults ages 50 or older regularly screened for colorectal cancer by 2018.

"1 in 3 women and 1 in 2 men in our country will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime, and the Relay For Life gives everyone in our community an opportunity to help support the search for a cure", says Mark Shaw, owner and principal agent of the Mark Shaw Agency.
