Six people were injured Thursday when a fire broke out at an amphitheater in Mountain View, where Google was holding a conference.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire reported at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in north Mountain View just before 4 p.m., said Lynn Brown, a spokesman for the Mountain View Fire Department. Three were transported to a hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.

The fire broke out in the kitchen of a building during the company's I/O conference, a Google representative said in a statement. The other two people were expected to survive. "No attendees were hurt but regretfully, three event staff were injured and we're making sure they receive the proper treatment".
Brown says investigators are working to determine what sparked the blaze.
