Demolition of White Hart Lane begins

The demolition of White Hart Lane began on Monday and Spurs will play all of next season's home matches at Wembley Stadium.

Cape Town - Harry Kane expects the current Tottenham side to stick together in a bid to go one better than this season and claim Premier League honours.

"To score the victor, to win the game and finish unbeaten here is something special", Kane told the club's official website.

"Second position is fantastic for us with 80 points and being unbeaten at White Hart Lane in the last season here".

Tottenham travel to last year's champions Leicester City on Thursday and play their final game at already-relegated Hull City on May 21.

He concluded by looking to the future saying that "now we have to focus on the last two games", adding "All we can say is that next season we will give our best and try to win the league".

Fassone: "Investimenti importanti per essere subito competitivi"

"We've got to get the fans behind us, we've got to keep the fans believing and, look, we have got to just believe in ourselves".

Plenty of the best players to have played for the club at their magnificent home ground were present at the game and paid tribute to the stadium.

"We've just got to go and make it happen".

Spurs beat Manchester United 2-1 on Sunday in the last-ever match at the stadium, Tottenham's home since 1899, before Levy formally handed the keys to Mark Reynolds, CEO of Mace - the firm contracted to demolish White Hart Lane and build Spurs' £800 million new stadium in its place. It's emotional now, I'm sure when we all get home it will start to sink in a little. That's got to be the next step, lifting the trophy and having celebrations like that but with a title or a cup. We played, we tried to win, we gave a hard match to our opponent. I am not too anxious about moving and I don't think the other players are too anxious either.
