Apple To Announce New MacBooks At WWDC 2017

Off the box, the 12-inch MacBook now has a 1.1GHz m3 processor and a 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Core m5 processor variants while the 13-inch MacBook Air has a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5.

FACED with pressure from Microsoft and declining iPad sales, Apple will announce updates to its MacBook laptops at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, according to a report by Bloomberg. The MacBook Pro will get a faster Kaby Lake processor from Intel Corp., said the people, who requested anonymity to discuss internal planning. At last October's MacBook Pro unveiling, Apple Senior Vice President Phil Schiller said the new touch-enabled portable is better than the Air "in every way", and implied that Air users looking to replace their laptop should go with the new Pro. It frayed (as with so many Apple cords over the years, sigh) and I immediately replaced it.

Apple is also working on a new version of the 12-inch MacBook with a faster Intel chip.

Microsoft's first real laptop is widely considered a viable rival to the MacBook Air.

The MacBook Pro model would try and become a direct competitor for Microsoft's efforts in the laptop/tablet market, as the Windows developer has already sank their teeth into this portion of the tech industry with the various devices that they power. The slashing of price from $999 to $799 is a strong sign that Apple might be announcing a new Macbook Air 2017 model soon.

While the 12-inch MacBook received several system upgrades previous year, the 13-inch MacBook Air badly needs some attention as well.

A lot of it was tied to the fact that the MacBook Pro 2016 still came with an Intel Skylake chipset, hardly an upgrade from the previous offering. Furthermore, the new versions of the MacBook and MacBook Pro are expected to be announced, and Apple is also considering updating the MacBook Air, its most affordable notebook. However, it is now one of the bulkiest, even in Apple's MacBook products.

Mac World reported that the new laptops won't have any design changes as the updates are speed bumps. WWDC also tends to focus on Apple's operating systems.
