Celtics' Gerald Green after loss: 'We've been in this situation before'

Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas (4) tries to move the ball in front of Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James (23) during first half of Game 2 of the NBA basketball Eastern Conference finals, Friday, May 19, 2017, in Boston.

That playoff winning streak actually is 12 games, dating back to the three straight victories over Golden State in Games 5 through 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals.

Watch highlights of the win in the video above. "You've got to be able to pick up the slack, certainly when other guys aren't available". Coach Tyronn Lue pointed out that the Celtics came back from a 2-0 deficit against the Chicago Bulls in the first round, praising them for their fight.

LeBron James scored 22 points in the first half. He racked up 23 points on 8 of 11 shooting.

James was, well, James in Game 1. Jaylen Brown had 19 points, but much of that was in garbage time.

The announcement, the latest in the shock-a-day Washington saga, was made by deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The FBI's investigation has bedeviled the Trump administration, and the president personally.

The records also tumbled for the Celtics with the crushing loss the franchise's worst ever home playoff defeat.

"It's honestly just embarrassing", guard Avery Bradley said. "We have to be ready for it", he said.

"We got the shots we wanted on the offensive end nearly all of the first half", Thomas said, noting the Cavs were rested while his team had just come off a seven-game series with the Washington Wizards. Keep in mind, they still put up 117 points and were in control of the game from the opening tip to the final whistle, which is truly scary for Boston going forward. Before that, the Cavs' first round series against the Detroit Pistons featured three close wins, and their clincher in the second round against the Atlanta Hawks was decided by a single point. They're not on 'Space Jam.' Like, they lace up their shoes just like us. But, even with that being said, Thomas and company seem to think that somehow, they will beat the Cavaliers in the seven-game series.

One thing the Celtics would love to bring to the table is more offense from Isaiah Thomas. James played just 33 minutes - a low for this postseason and just the second time he played fewer than 40 in the 2017 playoffs. Green made his first two shots - both 3-pointers - but finished with six points. On the lone one-on-one possession in which Thomas was guarded by James - in the second quarter - the Boston guard was called for a travelling violation after James cut off his driving lane, contested his awkward layup attempt and forced Thomas to catch his own shot, resulting in a turnover.
