"Every keystroke on an EVM is time-stamped and we can show the EC that we have the technology to read it if given access to the machine", Bhardwaj said.
In a discussion on the issue during the day-long special session of the Assembly, AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj claimed a voting machine could be manipulated by simply feeding it with a "secret code".
The Election Commission will meet representatives of the main political parties on Friday to deliberate on the controversy surrounding the fairness of electronic voting machines (EVMs). He also claimed he was a "100% sure" that the EVMs had been botched up to prevent AAP from winning the Punjab Assembly elections earlier this year.
Meanwhile, hundreds of AAP workers came out to the streets, demanding that paper trail-equipped EVMs or voter- verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) be used in future elections. Rao wondered why the EC was "reluctant" to invite those who had filed petitions in the Supreme Court challenging the reliability of EVMs and technical experts to the all-party meeting the poll watchdog had convened on May 12.
The Election Commission, through media, has learnt about a so called demonstration of tampering of "look-alike" EVM. Under the EC's supervision, give us these EVMs.
"The Commission, in its response, said we used a dummy and not an actual machine in yesterday's [Tuesday] demonstration".
Representatives of seven national parties and 48 state parties were invited by the poll panel for the meeting at the Constitution Club, to reassure the parties that Electronic Voting Machines can not be tampered with and were secured. To make the election process more transparent, the Commission has made proposal for electoral reforms on misuse of money power and bribery during elections.
The Future of Antarctica Is Probably Going to Be Greener
Antarctica is home to ice, penguins and - thanks to climate change - rapidly increasing levels of moss, scientists say. Researchers were able to determine the effects climate change has on moss by looking at samples of moss bank cores.
The Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal asked him to clarify the assembly about how the EVM gets tempered.
Zaidi also said the Commission has "no favourites" and it was equidistant from all parties.
While the BJP accused the AAP of "mocking democracy" inside the assembly, sacked Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra, who has hurled the bribery charges against Kejriwal, said the demonstration was a diversionary ploy.
Tankha, Chairman of the Legal and Human Rights Department of the Congress, said going back to the paper ballot could also be a solution.
"It is a fact that the EVMs can be hacked".
The Delhi BJP on Tuesday stepped up its attack on the AAP, saying it will lodge a complaint with the Election Commission for the party's alleged involvement in corruption cases and seek its derecognition. "Paper trail machines should be installed".
