Kashmir remains under curfew and restrictions with protests erupting in some places on Sunday, a day after a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander's killing sparked an uproar during which a civilian was killed by forces and almost five dozen protesters wounded. Police and security forces used "maximum restraint" while dealing with the situation at these places and stone pelters were dispersed, he said. Section 144 of the CrPC was imposed in parts of south and central Kashmir to prevent any law and order issue.
Prohibitory orders were imposed in Ganderbal, Badgam, Baramulla and Kupwara districts, while heavy deployments of police and paramilitary forces were made in south Kashmir districts of Shopian, Anantnag, Kulgam and Pulwama.
The killing of Sabzar Ahmad Bhat has sparked clashes in several cities and towns of Kashmir resulting in death of one bou near the encounter site at Tral in south Kashmir.
"In Pulwama, a group of miscreants pelted stones at the camp of CRPF's 182 Bn at Tahab village".
Sabzar Bhat was buried this morning at a graveyard in Ratsuna area of Tral where hundreds of people had gathered.
