The 6-foot-4, 187-pound Goodwin, from Columbus, Ohio, originally committed to Ohio State but reopened his recruitment in June after the Buckeyes parted with coach Thad Matta.

When a commit leaves an Ohio State recruiting class for one at Notre Dame it's a big deal. Now the Central Ohio native has chose to join the Fighting Irish, as he announced on Twitter Wednesday night. He took an official visit to Ohio State later in the month.

Goodwin's addition means that the Irish already boast three four-star recruits in their forthcoming class, ranking it solidly within the nation's top-10 classes ... as of now.

Finally, Zacks Investment Research raised HSN from a "strong sell" rating to a "hold" rating in a research report on Wednesday. Maxim Group set a $46.00 price objective on HSN and gave the company a "buy" rating in a research report on Thursday, May 4th.

Goodwin on Wednesday announced his commitment to Notre Dame on his public Twitter account. BGI learned the day of Goodwin's de-commitment that Notre Dame was a "dream school" for Goodwin and another source added the offer was a "special opportunity" for the family.

"In our mind it was the right thing to do for OSU and their new staff, to let them decide who they want in their program as well as to be open minded with Dane and let him look at other schools that may have an interest in him", his father, Damon Goodwin told cleveland.com at the time.
