A MOTHER has been arrested after being pictured towing her children in a toy wagon behind her auto on a busy road while waving at other vehicles to overtake her.

Springfield police said 27-year-old Alana Donahue was arrested Wednesday night after at least four motorists reported seeing the auto pulling the plastic wagon. One witness told police the toddler began crying after the wagon went up on two wheels.

In a police document, Lieutenant McKee said: 'Witnesses reported Donohue was indignant when confronted by motorists pleading with her to stop, telling them to "mind your own business".

It goes on to state that at least one witness took photos and videos.

She allegedly claimed that she just wanted to "show the kids a good time".

"That same witness reported observing Donohue pull over and move the toddler from the wagon to the auto and then continue driving with the 4-year-old and the 8-year-old still in the wagon..."

Donahue was not intoxicated but the mother was charged with reckless endangerment.

Police were stunned when they were sent photographic evidence of the woman's white Ford Taurus dragging the vulnerable kids around a roundabout on Wednesday evening.

Four people called police after witnessing the incident.

The children, ages 3 and 5, were not injured.

Police have ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors related to this incident.

The Department of Human Services reportedly placed the two children in the care of another unnamed person.
