Apple CEO Tim Cook Announces New Emojis

Apple released a sample of the new set of emoji it will release later this year.

Otherwise, it's a matter of Apple continuing its diversity push with the inclusion of an emoji of a mother breastfeeding, a woman wearing a headscarf and ... a man with a beard.

We need emojis and we need a World Emoji Day to celebrate our favourite emojis.

Investigators are asking the public to study the man's facial features and contact them with any information on him. He's described by police as white, 5'6"-5'10", weighing 180-220 pounds with reddish-brown hair.

These new emojis will be coming to our iPhones, iPads and other Apple products sometime in 2017. The new firmware update will be out in the fall. The emoji will come to iOS, macOS and watchOS later this year.

From the looks of it, the new emoji in iOS 11 simply represent Apple's take on the most recent Unicode 10 standard which brought 56 new emoji.

Not everyone was happy with the announcement however as many ginger-haired people continue to call for the introduction of an emoji for them. Manufacturers create their own designs for emoji, Unicode only decides what the new emoji characters are going to be. There's also more food options that will include a sandwich, steak and coconut.
