But in that crowd at the D23 Expo - think of it as the Disney cousin to Comic-Con - one little woman stood head and shoulders above the lot of them: a British nanny named Mary Poppins.

We've been given out first sneak peak at the sequal to the 1964 Disney classic Mary Poppins which stars Emily Blunt in the lead role.

Aside from Blunt, Colin Firth has also joined the project, set to play Bank president, William Weatherall Wilkins, and Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda has been cast as Bert's equivalent - a street lamp lighter called Jack - even Meryl Streep has been given a cameo.

The 34-year-old actress was present to debut new content from her upcoming movie Mary Poppins Returns alongside director Rob Marshall.

From there on out, there's more whimsy, color and humor as we see Mary begin to bring back the joy and wonder that had been missing in the Banks' lives.

And Miranda will play a lamplighter whose part in the story seems to echo the part of the chimney sweep in the original. She's just unbelievable. There will never be anyone else like her. "I wanted to pay homage to Julie and then carve out my own niche and do my own version of her". Michael, a child in Mary Poppins, is an adult widower, with three children, helped along with his sister Jane.

"We both and the entire company and the creative time feel very protective of the original film because we love it so much", Marshall said. Marshall shared, "I was incredibly honored to be approached by Disney about directing a sequel". There are a ton of movies and other projects for Disney to showcase at the event in 2017, but outside of the Marvel Studios and Star Wars franchises, there is the highly-anticipated Mary Poppins Returns.

Emily Blunt stars as Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins Returns. "This is a brand new original film musical from top to bottom, which is very rare, and it is a wonderful opportunity to create something specifically for the screen".
