Turning to Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, the ISPR Chief said 46 major operations and over 9,000 intelligence based operations were launched, while 10707 joint check posts were established across Pakistan. "In Pakistan, the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has shown an alliance with Daesh".
He clarified that carrying out joint operations by the security forces was meant to undertake offensive against the terrorists within their respective territorial jurisdictions by sharing intelligence reports with each other and sealing the border so that to check infiltration of terrorists from and to either side.
Fata, Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan, is governed by Islamabad via an archaic set of laws and has seen multiple military operations against militant groups such as the Pakistani Taliban and al Qaeda after the so-called "war on terror" triggered by 9/11.
DG ISPR said Raymond Davis wrote his book as a contractor, and his remarks regarding his exit from Pakistan may have other purposes.
The army spokesperson also gave a country-wide breakdown of the operations taken as part of Operation Raddul Fasaad (RuF), launched earlier this year, stating that the security situation of the country has improved as a result.

The spokesman said Afghan military had been informed ahead of the latest anti-ISIL operation.
