A woman has been found dead at a stag party in Melbourne, but two of the partygoers say they have been "stitched up".

Four men are in police custody after a woman's body was discovered inside serviced apartments in central Melbourne.

Fairfax are also reporting that members of the group said they had been "stitched up".

The patient had been wearing disposable contacts for 35 years but had not been to the optometrist for her regular appointments. Morjaria said she decided to make the case public to raise awareness of the importance of regular check-ups with optometrists.

Police have released a description of what the young woman was wearing in the hopes that she'll be identified: a black long-sleeve shirt, blue denim shorts and white sneakers. They have been released pending further investigations.

Emergency crews arrived just before 8 o'clock yesterday morning, but could do nothing to revive the woman.

A group of 11 men had rented the apartment in the Oaks on Market for a buck's weekend and reportedly returned with the woman on Saturday evening. Another witness told the paper she saw one of the men being led from the building in handcuffs by Police but was not resisting. They are now reviewing the hotel's CCTV.
