Chelsea has expressed "serious and strong interest" in signing Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero this summer, according to reports.

The Argentina worldwide is regarded as one of the Premier League's best strikers, scoring an impressive 169 goals in 253 appearances for the Sky Blues after joining from Atletico Madrid back in 2011.

Chelsea are in search of an elite striker having missed out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United recently, and have been linked with the likes of Álvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang since missing out on Lukaku.

However, per Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports News HQ, City are adamant the 29-year-old is not for sale.

When asked if Aguero would stay at City in May, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said: "Absolutely". We are a team that aspires to win every competition we compete in.

Aguero is widely regarded as one of the top strikers in the Premier League and it remains to be seen whether Manchester City would really consider letting him leave the club this summer, especially to join a title rival.

"My information is they do not want to sell Sergio Aguero".

Only time will tell where the Argentina talisman will play next season. "It has never been in doubt".

The Argentine striker has scored a magnificent 122 goals in 181 Premier League appearances for City so we would be astonished if the champions were not interested in Aguero.
