BCCI's All-India Senior Selection Committee made an announcement on Monday, stating that Vijay injured himself during a practice match.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the news through its official Twitter account.

Dhawan did show form in the lone T20I that India played against West Indies, but the opener failed to convert his 12 ball 23 into a big score. Following which he pulled out of the Indian Premier League.
