Suzuki Swift Hybrid launched in Japan

Suzuki has uncloaked its all new Swift Hybrid in Japan on Monday, which will be available in two variants Hybrid SG and Hybrid SL.

Maruti Suzuki has not given any indication whether the hybrid Swift will come to India.

The latest iteration of the Suzuki Swift gets a new version in Japan. The hybrid powertrain is paired to a 5-speed AMT unit. The 1.2-litre petrol engine develops 91bhp and the electric setup pushes out 10kW (13.4bhp) of power. Before switching, the system ensures there is sufficient charge to propel the vehicle for some distance on electric power only.

The system offers two driving modes to let the driver select between brisk driving, and driving with priority on fuel efficiency by increasing the frequency of EV driving. The new variant is not only more environmentally conscious, but also more fuel efficient and the automaker claims a mileage of 32 kmpl in the Japanese cycle.

Celtic have also been charged with "improper conduct of the team" due to the fact they picked up five or more bookings. The match itself saw the Scottish champions run out 2-0 winners, with Scott Sinclair and Tom Rogic on the scoresheet.

The vehicle comes in two variants - Swift Hybrid SG and Swift Hybrid SL.

The Suzuki Swift Hybrid remains the same in proportions and it is the technology under the hood that has seen a change.

The vehicle comes in two-wheel drive mode and Suzuki claims a fuel efficiency of 32kmpl in the Japanese cycle and has managed to weigh just under 1000 kg. Advanced safety features includes the Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) collision-mitigating system that features a monocular camera and laser sensor to detect hurldes ahead, as well as SRS curtain airbags and front seat SRS side airbags, come as standard.
