Police received a 911 call around 7:20 p.m. Sunday evening from a woman seeking help from inside an apartment building on the 100 block of Seventh Street. The identities of the deceased will not be made public until the next of kin have been notified. The emergency call was cut off, and at about the same time, dispatchers received several other calls from nearby residents reporting gunshots.

Residents reported hearing a helicopter overhead from which people in the area were urged to take shelter in their homes, and police evacuated residents of the affected apartment building, according to postings on a Seal Beach community Facebook page.

Sometime before 2:30 a.m. Monday, SWAT officers entered a third-floor apartment and found the bodies of a man and woman.

She noted that drivers using the Uber app have access to a 24/7 local emergency line to use in the event they feel unsafe. The San Francisco-based firm said it had requested an urgent meeting with the police minister to address safety concerns.

Two bloody bodies were found inside a Seal Beach apartment after a desperate woman called police pleading for help and shots were heard being fired, authorities said. Their genders and ages were not immediately released.

A police SWAT team was on the scene in what was considered a "barricade situation", and using "technology to ensure the safety of officers" while determining whether the suspect and/or victim were inside, Henderson said.
