Authorities ask for help in identifying possible child predator

The FBI is asking for help identifying a man who is involved in an investigation into child sex crimes.

The images of the unidentified man, dubbed John Doe 38, showing him with a child were produced in July of 2014, in Louisville.

According to a press release, the man, known as John Doe 38, is described as being between 40 and 60 with grayish-brown hair, balding at the crown of the head. Investigators believe he is somewhere in the region-specifically the states of Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip online or call the FBI's toll-free tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Officials say no charges have been filed.

This individual is being sought as part of the FBI's Operation Rescue Me and Endangered Child Alert Program initiatives, both of which represent strategic partnerships between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
