A golden retriever named Rio gave birth to a green puppy, which the owner appropriately named Forest.

The Sun U.K. reports that the curious puppy was recently born to Rio in the town of Golspie in the Scottish Highlands. Eight of them came out with the usual golden fur, but one of them looked like Gazoo from The Flintstones.

The green puppy, named Forest, is one of nine puppies.

"The first pup was stuck, so myself and my daughter Claire managed to free him and pull him out safely", Sutherland told The Sun.

While a dog having puppies may not be anything viral worthy, a newborn puppy with green fur has really swept social media.

Veterinarians believe the leafy glow is caused by a green bile pigment found in the placenta, and the color should fade within a couple of weeks.

However, the green tint is fading away, so Forest will be normal colored soon.
