Steelers unveil uniform patch in honor of the late Dan Rooney

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be honoring one of the franchise's most important figures during the 2017-18 National Football League season.

A patch with a shamrock and the letters "DMR" will be worn on players jerseys in honor of Dan Rooney, the late Chairman of the Steelers who died in April.

"I know he wouldn't want us to make too much of a fuss". I think wearing a jersey patch, he would be proud of that. In 2009, President Barack Obama appointed Rooney to be the US Ambassador to Ireland, a role Mr. Rooney played until 2012.

Dunkirk emerges victorious in battle for the box office
Box office report suggests the film is seeing a successful run in cinemas clocking good business worldwide. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will round out this week's top five box office movies.

The Steelers have always been led with high amounts of class and character, and the shamrock patch on the jerseys perfectly resembles what Rooney instilled into the Steelers organization during his time here.

"We wanted to have something my dad would be proud of and really called out parts of his life that were important to him", Steelers' President Art Rooney II said in a statement.
