Acura unveils updated 2018 RLX with more aggressive styling

The refreshed sedan is in line with the new design language at Acura, most notably the adoption of a "diamond pentagon grille", a new signature that's a very welcome replacement for the disgusting chrome beak that's been plaguing otherwise good looking Acuras for nearly a decade.

The 2018 RLX will officially debut next week during Monterey Car Week.

Inside, everything remains as per pre-facelift in terms of layout, although the 2018 model year gets upgraded materials and contact points.

Key styling changes include the addition of the brand's new diamond pentagon grille highlighted by a massive Acura badge, a sculpted hood and jagged LEDs running along the headlights and taillights.

In other markets including the Philippines, the Acura RLX is essentially a Honda Legend. Either way, Acura still wants to continue making the sedan and has now unveiled a refreshed 2018 Acura RLX, which incorporates the brand's new face.

The new grille design has also been adopted by the TLX sedan and the MDX SUV.

Gareth Bale reveals why he won't join Manchester United
The club drew a lot of games last season and it wouldn't take a huge amount to turn some of those into victories this time around. While summer signing Romelu Lukaku did manage to find the net, his overall performance was below par of what United would expect.

That means 377 horsepower from a V6 engine with a torque-assist electric motor and a pair of electric drive motors bolted to the rear wheels. Acura says that developments from the NSX have meant better all-weather and dynamic handling in the 2018 RLX. He played basketball for ten years and he was also a coach for two.

If the non-hybrid variant is preferred, the RLX gets the same 3.5 litre powerplant but without the electric motors (obviously).

The first Acura RLX debuted in 2013 as a replacement for the range-topping RL sedan.

Finally, two new premium paint offerings have been added to the color palette: Brilliant Red Metallic and Majestic Black Pearl. The standard RLX drives the front wheels with a 310-horsepower 3.5-liter V6, which is now mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. An Espresso interior color is a fresh option. It includes forward-collision warnings with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warnings, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, and road departure mitigation. A new Traffic Jam Assist feature will extend the adaptive cruise's functionality to stop-and-go driving. Also added this time around is Traffic Jam Assist, which uses the adaptive cruise control to follow the auto ahead in slow-moving traffic and keep a set interval.

Features like the surround view camera, parking sensors, LED fog lights, remote engine start and more will be offered as standard features on the 2018 Acura RLX.
