In a recent interview that was published on the OnePlus forums, the head of product at OnePlus revealed that Android O would be the last major update that the OnePlus 3 and 3T would see. Some hardware-reliant features found on the OnePlus 5, like the Reading Mode and DCI-P3 color gamut output, won't get passed onto the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T - the component gap is real, folks. At this point, the OnePlus 3 is 14 months old while the OnePlus 3T is just 9 months old from their respective dates of release.
In a Q&A on the company's community forums (via 9to5 Google) he wrote: "Android O is going to be the last Android version update we'll release for the OP3/3T".
The interview is a quick read, so I'd recommend anyone with a OnePlus 3 or 3T to take a look. It's left a bad taste in the fanbase and has left some questioning if the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T would survive their two years with Android O at the end of the ride.
Trump thinks he should have been even harder on North Korea
State Department official Heather Nauert said during a press briefing that Tillerson's advice on North Korea should be listened to.
While this isn't really a surprise, it will come as a blow to OnePlus owners who aren't upgrading to the new and more expensive OnePlus 5.
OnePlus recently released the OnePlus 5 which comes with a dual-camera setup at the rear, a slimmer and lighter design and top of the line specifications. After the OP3/3T have been updated to Android O, we'll start moving the Open Beta Program from OP3/3T to OP5. Another question asks about security updates and they're told that due to a delay in OxygenOS 4.5 for the OP3/3T these security patches for August will be pushed "soon" by themselves and without the big 4.5 update.
