Amit Shah invites Nitish Kumar to join NDA; Bihar politics heats up

Party sources said Nitish Kumar ordered the removal of Sharad Yadav from the post in view of his anti-party utterances. "Sharad Yadav has been addressing RJD workers on his state tour, but not one JD (U) MLA is with him, not one JD (U) district chief with them", claimed Tyagi.

Shah's invite to Nitish to join the NDA was only a formality after he led his party out of the Grand Alliance in Bihar and formed a new government in the state with the help of the BJP.

"When we are together in government in Bihar it is only natural that our party joins the Union government", he said.

The senior party leader has raised questions over the alliance saying that this decision has broken the trust of those who voted for JD (U).

The decision comes in the wake of Sharad Yadav's misgivings over Nitish Kumar's decision to break away from the Mahagathbandhan and form a government with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar.

Fresh floods affect over 65000 in Assam
Meanwhile, the floodwaters have affected 10,99,217 people in 1,752 villages under 66 revenue villages across 19 districts. A total of 124 animals including 9 one horned rhinos were died in the world heritage site in the first wave of flood.

BJP leader Amit Shah, on Saturday, formally invited Nitish Kumar, chief of Janata Dal (United), to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). "There are two JD (U) s in Bihar, one is sarkari (official) and another is janata (of the people)".

"First, Nitish took the decision to go with the BJP without calling the national executive".

Speaking to ANI, MP Vashistha Narayan Singh said, "This was important and was done due to Sharad Yadav's anti-party activities". Sharad Yadav has called a conclave on "sanjhi virasat bachao" (save composite culture) at Constitution Club in the capital. Kumar had earlier suspended another JD (U) Rajya Sabha MP, Ali Anwar, who had attended a meeting of Opposition parties convened by Sonia Gandhi on instructions from Sharad Yadav.

"We have the support of activists, students, and other social leaders".

The party is going to have a committee meeting on August 19 that will take the final decision, Singh said.
