Nassau County police charged Bobby Vanderhall, 34, with three counts of murder in the deaths early Saturday of his mother, Lynn Reichenbach-Vanderhall; his sister Melissa Vanderhall; and Janel Simpson, who family members said.

A friend of Melissa was able to escape and call for help.

"She's in the hospital right now", a relative of Murray said.
