According to Deadline, Bennett will pen How I Met Your Father as part of her overall deal with the 20th Century FOX TV, written on spec and with no studio now attached. Last season they tried again with This Is Us co-executive producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, but due to the schedule and popularity of that show (as well as a promotion to co-showrunners), it didn't work out. The studio produced a pilot for How I Met Your Dad, penned by original series creators Carter Bays, Craig Thomas, Emily Spivey, which was later put on the back-burner.

Following the completion of the sale, the insider now owns 1,000 shares of the company's stock, valued at approximately $50,830. In other news, VP Ashley Dreier sold 10,000 shares of HealthEquity stock in a transaction that occurred on Monday, June 5th.
Bennett had been marked for consideration earlier this year when 20th Century TV's took on the spin-off idea once more.
FOX Chairman, Dana Waldon revealed the studio's spin-off strategy this week, sharing it's an idea that has been stewing for quite some time. She had been earmarked for the job as 20th TV executives felt she might be ideal for it when they sat down with her after signing her into an overall deal.
"She is completely original, hilariously amusing and a big, big talent", he said. Deadline reports that the series "incorporates some of Bennett's personal experiences".
