Two cops, soldier injured in Hajin shootout

Two policemen suatained bullet wounds soon after forces launched a cordon-and-search operation at Hajin area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Sunday morning.

He said as the forces were conducting the search operation, the militants fired upon them, resulting in injuries to two police personnel.

Earlier, Army's 13 RR and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police had cordoned off Kochak Mohalla Hajin after inputs about presence of three militants in the area.

Both the injured have been hospitalised, he said.

The injured cops have been taken to a hospital for treatment, the official said, adding the cordon and search operation is going on in the area.

The officials said firing continued for some time and an manhunt has been launched to nab the militants.
