The fifth generation Verna is powered by a 1.6 litre petrol and 1.6 litre diesel engine that is paired to both six-speed automatic and a six-speed manual transmission. The Verna has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm and a ground clearance of 165 mm. The new Verna is based on the same Elantra platform and is said to be better to drive. The 1.6 litre Dual VTVT petrol engine develops 120 hp of power, while the 1.6 litre U2 CRDi VGT diesel unit generates 123 hp.
