What's the Plan Behind Carson Wentz

Philadelphia Eagles ride Carson Wentz to win over Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles gave fans tuning in to NFL Network quite a show in their preseason matchup at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday.

After a less than stellar 2016 with Chicago, Cutler's first start for the Dolphins started ominously. Jay Ajayi had a strong outing at running back, carrying nine times for 53 yards and two 2-yard touchdowns, one set up by Parker's long reception and the other set up by Phillips' interception.

The first-half scoring was capped on a 56-yard field goal by Miami kicker Andrew Franks with two seconds left.

Eagles signal-caller Carson Wentz launched a couple of touchdowns to new targets, though he also faced consistent pressure and threw a pass that was tipped and picked.

In his preseason debut last week against the Baltimore Ravens, Cutler completed three of six passes for 24 yards. Wentz began targeting Jeffery later in the period, finding him for a 20-yard gain before coming back to him for a 15-yard touchdown down the seam.

Many starters for the Dolphins should play well until halftime.

Both starting quarterbacks seemed to perform reasonably well, but Miami backup quarterback Matt Moore was disappointing, going 5 of 11 for 43 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.

Philadelphia took a 28-21 lead when linebacker Mychal Kendricks returned a Matt Moore pass 31 yards for a touchdown.

Pederson will be especially disappointed with his team's 16 penalties for 147 yards.
